Soviets
Overwhelm the enemy with firepower and armor. Conquer the world with iron and fire.
Faction traits
The Soviets are built for a straight fight. Their units tend to hit harder and live longer, at the cost of speed. Their economy ramps quickly enough to field a large army early.
Signature tools include Tesla weapons, the Iron Curtain, and nuclear missiles. Tesla fire tears through vehicles and buildings, the Iron Curtain makes friendlies briefly invulnerable, and the nuke is the final argument.
A typical Soviet plan is a fast economy, a hard defensive line, and a wall of tanks. The air force is narrow, but a Kirov strike is hard to forget.
Signature units
Rhino Tank
The Soviet main battle tank. Average speed, thick armor, and a gun that earns its keep.
Strengths
- Thick armor
- Excellent value
- Unstoppable once massed
Weaknesses
- Average mobility
- No anti-air
Tesla Trooper
Heavy insulated armor and a man-portable Tesla arc. Vehicles especially regret meeting one.
Strengths
- High damage against armor
- Cannot be crushed
- Charges a Tesla coil
Weaknesses
- Limited range
- Slow
- Expensive for infantry
Kirov Airship
The heaviest Soviet aircraft, loaded with bombs and a permanent place in Allied nightmares.
Strengths
- Huge hit points
- Area bomb damage
- A base-ending strike
Weaknesses
- Extremely slow
- Bombs only what is underneath
Terror Drone
A nimble Soviet machine that climbs inside vehicles or cuts infantry down in a blink.
Strengths
- Extremely mobile
- Hard to remove once it latches on
- An infantry killer
Weaknesses
- Very fragile
- No anti-air
V3 Rocket Launcher
A launcher for oversized rockets, built to knock out defenses from a safe distance.
Strengths
- Extreme range
- Frightening damage to buildings
Weaknesses
- Rockets can be shot down
- The launcher itself is fragile
Signature buildings
Tesla Reactor
The node that keeps a base powered. Quiet as an accountant until the lights go out and every advanced building lies down.
Strengths
- Powers the base
- A manageable cost
- The start of the tech chain
Weaknesses
- Destruction causes a blackout
- Usually cannot defend itself
- Should be spread out
Soviet War Factory
The plant that turns plate, parts, and budget into treads or tires.
Strengths
- Unlocks vehicles
- Builds the armored force
- Keeps the main line supplied
Weaknesses
- Expensive
- A large footprint
- Losing it stops vehicle production
Tesla Coil
A fixed defense. It holds a key entrance with power and range. It will not chase anyone, but it will make them reconsider the route.
Strengths
- Steady fixed fire
- Good for ore fields and entrances
- Stands watch without moving
Weaknesses
- Depends on power or sight
- Cannot relocate
- Long-range fire picks them off one by one
Iron Curtain
A strategic building. It quietly supports technology, intelligence, or a special ability.
Strengths
- Opens more tactics
- Provides a key base ability
- Fits the wider tech path
Weaknesses
- Usually expensive and unarmed
- Depends on the base and on power
- Needs a priority guard
Radar
A strategic building. It quietly supports technology, intelligence, or a special ability.
Strengths
- Opens more tactics
- Provides a key base ability
- Fits the wider tech path
Weaknesses
- Usually expensive and unarmed
- Depends on the base and on power
- Needs a priority guard
Field guide
Tank rush
Use the Soviet edge in numbers and guns. Mass tanks and drive them straight in. It is simple, and it is a good first plan.
- 1.Grow the economy and build several war factories
- 2.Keep Rhinos and Apocalypse tanks in production
- 3.Gather 30–40 tanks, then hit the thin side of the defense
- 4.Destroy defenses and production first
Air strike
Use Kirov airships to bomb key buildings and defenses. It costs a lot, and it pays for itself when the bombs land.
- 1.Lock down a defense and an economy first
- 2.Build an airfield and produce 5–8 Kirovs
- 3.Send ground units to draw anti-air fire
- 4.Bomb power plants, refineries, and other key buildings together
Special-forces raid
Tesla troopers and Crazy Ivans can shut down a base if you fly them in. The plan is precise, and it rewards players who already know the map.
- 1.Train Tesla troopers, Crazy Ivans, and an engineer
- 2.Fly the squad to the edge of the enemy base
- 3.Tesla troopers break defenses while Ivans clear infantry
- 4.Have the engineer capture a war factory or construction yard
